Harald A. Summa is the CEO of DE-CIX and is also founder and CEO of eco - German Internet Industry Association. eco is the largest European Internet Industry Association, promoting their commercial development as well as providing advice and support to companies that do business with or on the Internet

Before Harald founded eco, he served as CEO at SISZ and held various sales & marketing positions at Infodas, Xerox and ICL and was the owner of a software company that developed database software.

Harald holds a Master’s degree (Diplom) in Applied Informatics from Cologne University and taught there for 10 years.

Arnold Nipper is one of the founders of DE-CIX and is responsible for DE-CIX‘s engineering & operations. He is also a board member at Euro-IX, the European Internet Exchange Association. Prior to joining DE-CIX, Mr. Nipper was the CTO of Xlink in Karlsruhe.

He has almost 20 years experience working in the professional Internet environment. In 1989 he managed to establish the first IP connection for the University of Karlsruhe and he took the lead on developing the national IP network for WIN-IP (the German Research Network). Arnold is one of the founders of RIPE and was involved in the development of the .de domain name registry.

He holds a Master’s degree (Diplom) in Mathematics from Mannheim University.

Frank Orlowski joined DE-CIX in March 2006 and leads the company's business development and marketing.

He came to DE-CIX from Deutsche Telekom (New York & Bonn) where he was in charge of the European peering strategy and development. Prior to joining Deutsche Telekom, he was Director of Market Development at access:Seven Communications, a Frankfurt based telecommunications startup and a Key Account Manager at STAR Telecom.

Frank has 10 years experience in the carrier’s carrier business and 14 years Internet experience.

Wolfgang Tremmel joined DE-CIX in January 2006 and is responsible for customer support and customer relations.

Prior to joining DE-CIX he was Director Peering and Network Planning at VIA NET.WORKS Europe. Before joining VIA NET.WORKS, Wolfgang served as Senior Network Planner at KPNQwest and as Teamleader Network Operations at Xlink.

Wolfgang has 14 years experience in the commercial Internet environment. He holds a masters degree (Diplom) in Computer Science of Karlsruhe University.
